You see the lab numbers and the written report before you make any decision about treatment.
The first conversation is free, and so is a visual mold inspection. When the inspection confirms visible mold, it comes with an estimate.
The lab has no affiliation with EnviroPure, and it reads the samples taken before treatment and after it. Air and tape results usually come back in 2 to 3 business days.
Spore count per cubic meter and genus for each sample, set against outdoor and baseline samples. It's written in plain language, and the copy is yours.
EnviroPure works only on mold, so the visit stays on where the moisture comes from and what the lab finds.
Moisture mapping shows which rooms run humid and which materials are wet, so our inspection notes name the moisture source, and the lab report covers the mold.
The Virginia Department of Health says it "does not have the capability to provide environmental testing or remediation for mold problems," so testing a house in Virginia falls to private firms. An inspection finds the moisture, and a lab test measures the mold.
Mold Testing answers a narrow question: is mold present, and what kind? An air or tape sample goes to the lab, and the report gives the genus and the spore count.
Air Quality Testing measures humidity room by room first, then compares air samples from the rooms in question with a sample of the outdoor air.
On-site inspection
A mold inspection and a home inspection are separate jobs. In Virginia, home inspection is a trade licensed by DPOR, and a home inspector's contract may list mold among its exclusions. Mold inspection on its own is not a licensed occupation in the state.
Ours looks for the moisture as well as the mold. We take humidity readings room by room and moisture readings in walls, floors and framing to find leaks, wet materials and rooms without enough ventilation. When the worry sits in one part of the house, we run a focused visit: Attic Mold Inspection, Basement Mold Inspection, Bathroom Mold Inspection or Crawl Space Mold Inspection.
The right sample depends on what you need to know. Call us and we'll talk through which one fits before anyone comes out.
Lab report
For each sample, the lab gives a spore count per cubic meter and the genus of what it found. An indoor count means little on its own, so the report sets it beside the outdoor and baseline samples. Expect air and tape results from the lab in 2 to 3 business days.
If you go ahead with VaPURE treatment, the home is vacant while we treat, and most families are back the same evening. Post-Remediation Clearance Testing then sends a fresh set of air samples to the same lab, so the before and after numbers come from one source.
Call us and we'll talk through next steps and the earliest visit we can offer. The consultation is free, and so is the visual mold inspection.
