How We Work

Treatment that reaches behind the wall. Why people choose EnviroPure Mold Services.

Mold you can see often has company where you can’t: on the back of the drywall, inside the ductwork, under the floor in a crawl space. The VaPURE™ vapor treats those spaces along with the visible surfaces, and an independent lab measures the air before and after.

Vapor reaches hidden spaces

The VaPURE™ vapor reaches wall cavities, ductwork and the air as well as the surfaces you can see.

Most homes need no demolition

Walls, ceilings and floors usually stay in place. When a material is too far gone, we say so in the estimate and it comes out.

A lab tests before and after

Air samples go to an accredited lab with no affiliation with EnviroPure, once before treatment and once after, and the report is yours.

1-year re-treat warranty

When the whole property is treated and a follow-up lab test within a year shows mold above regional averages, we re-treat at no charge.

Moisture mapped first

We find the leak, the damp crawl space or the poor ventilation behind the mold, because the protectant stage only helps once that cause is fixed.

Mold is all we do

We don't sell roofing, plumbing or HVAC work, so our notes name the trade your moisture problem needs, with no stake in the repair.

Inside VaPURE™

The VaPURE™ sterilant travels as a vapor.

EnviroPure Mold Services is licensed to use Pure Maintenance's patented VaPURE™ process, which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has studied. Because the sterilant is a vapor, it settles on surfaces, mixes with the air and gets into wall cavities, HVAC and porous materials.

  • Treats mold on surfaces and in the air
  • Reaches wall cavities, ductwork and porous materials
  • Lab air samples before and after treatment
  • No demolition in most homes; the house is empty during treatment and you’re back that evening

The VaPURE™ Process

Four steps, from walk-through to lab report.

The VaPURE™ process has four steps: inspect, treat, inhibit regrowth and prove the result with a lab test.

  1. 01

    We find the mold

We walk the property, map moisture and look for the source that is feeding the mold. Where testing is needed, baseline air samples go to an accredited third-party lab.

  2. 02

    We treat the mold

The VaPURE™ sterilant travels as a vapor to surfaces, wall cavities, HVAC, porous materials and the air. People, pets and plants are out of the house until it’s finished.

  3. 03

    We inhibit future mold growth

An antimicrobial protectant goes on next. It helps surfaces resist new growth once the moisture cause is fixed.

  4. 04

We prove the result with lab tests

Post-treatment air samples go to the same accredited lab. Your written report compares them with the outdoor and baseline samples.

EnviroPure Mold Services specialist inspecting a property Free visual inspection
01  Property Inspection

We inspect the property to tailor treatment.

Water that comes in during a downpour can sit inside a wall or under a floor long after the room looks dry. On 8 July 2019, about a month’s rain fell on the region in a couple of hours, and Pimmit Run flooding closed the 1300 block of Kirby Road in McLean. If your house took water that day, or in any storm since, tell us where it came in, because that is where we map moisture first.

We walk the property and map moisture to find the source, then fit the treatment to what we find. The consultation and visual inspection are free, and when the inspection confirms visible mold, you get an estimate. If there’s no visible mold but you still have concerns, air quality testing with a report from a third-party lab puts numbers on the question.

VaPURE™ treatment in progress Single-day treatment
02  Mold Treatment

The patented VaPURE™ vapor treats most homes in a single day.

The sterilant goes out as a fine vapor and reaches surfaces, wall cavities, HVAC, porous materials and the air. Furniture and electronics generally stay where they are. Nobody stays inside during treatment: people, pets and plants leave, and you come back when it’s finished, usually the same evening.

Roof water leads to attic mold removal and ceiling mold removal. Ground water and floods lead to basement mold removal, crawl space mold removal, carpet mold removal and water damage mold removal. Steam and plumbing leaks lead to bathroom mold removal, shower mold removal and wall mold remediation, and a backed-up condensate drain to HVAC mold removal.

Preventive antimicrobial coating application Protectant stage
03  Mold Prevention

The second stage of the VaPURE™ process inhibits future mold growth.

After the vapor, we apply an antimicrobial protectant that helps surfaces resist new growth.

It helps once the moisture cause is fixed, so your inspection notes name that cause, whether it is a plumbing leak, water in a crawl space or a bathroom without enough ventilation.

Third-party accredited lab clearance report Third-party verified
04  Accredited Lab Results

An independent lab checks the result.

1-year re-treat warranty: when the whole property is treated and a follow-up lab test within a year shows mold above regional averages, we re-treat at no charge.

Post-treatment air samples go to the same accredited lab that tested before, and the lab has no affiliation with EnviroPure. Results usually come back in 2 to 3 business days. The report gives the spore count per cubic meter and the genus, compares them with the outdoor and baseline samples, and explains it all in plain language.

Frequently Asked

Questions about mold remediation.

Yes. People, pets and plants all leave before treatment starts, and the house stays empty until it’s finished. Most homes are treated in a single day, and most families are back the same evening.

It depends on the size of the property and what is causing the mold. The first step is free: a consultation and a visual inspection, with an estimate when visible mold is confirmed. Most homes need no demolition, which keeps rebuild work out of most estimates.

No. Furniture and electronics generally stay where they are. If you have something you’re unsure about, mention it during the walk-through.

The vapor treats the mold present on the day, and the protectant stage helps resist new growth once the moisture cause is fixed. Our 1-year re-treat warranty applies when the whole property is treated: if a follow-up lab test within a year shows mold above regional averages, we re-treat at no charge.

Conventional remediation scrapes, cuts out and replaces the material where mold is visible. The VaPURE™ process uses a vapor that behaves like a gas and reaches porous materials, wall cavities and HVAC, so most homes need no demolition. An independent lab then checks the air.
